  Pain follows us everywhere—in train seats, in our grandmothers’ voices, in awkward silences, in the history that lingers. It’s not something to be neatly compartmentalized, nor should it be. Pain is all-encompassing, binding us, forcing us to look each other in the eye and acknowledge that life, in its rawest form, is always shared. This film gets that—no cheap sentimentality, no forced profundity. Just two people as ordinary as they come, a journey, and the quiet weight of existing with and for one another. Hope we all find the courage to walk alongside someone else’s pain, even if just for a little while.
