Kubo and the Two Strings 2016
it’s unreal how beautiful this movie is… remains one of my all-time favorites after years and multiple watches. definitely has its issues, but I love the fantasy elements, the score, and the world, and so many of the scenes just take my breath away (the beginning and the ocean washing against the pebbled beach, the sisters and their layered capes, the sailboat made of autumn leaves, and the scene where kubo’s mom tells her story, to name a few). love transcending lifetimes and death. the power of a story.
