  We follow Fēna through one shit day and witness the many reactions to his identity. I didn't expect this film to inform the entire trans experience, but I do feel as though it was a bit surface-level and could have used the time to dig a little deeper. Ultimately, this movie is a smart example of "others don't see you are you are, they see you as they are."

  One of my favorite movies of the year (if not, my favorite). Paul Giamatti’s performance has surely earned him an Oscar—all the performances were heartwarming and beyond believable. Here, we didn’t see a 1970s filter, but an authentic 1970s sentimentality across every inch of this film. Felt like the film took care of its audience.
