Forgot to add review from my notes:

Another fantastic film from Robert Eggers. He just can't seem to miss. Great performances all around, especially from Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård.

What's most impressive about Eggers's films in my opinion is the quality and craftsmanship of each film's world. The sets, costumes, and how they're shot really bring every era Eggers seeks to capture to life. Credit to the set designer, costume designer, and cinematographer respectively.

Forgot to add review from my notes:

Very refreshing movie. Tight runtime, tight story-telling. Animals were all very realistically expressive with only minor straying from realism to not so much advance the plot as have a plot at all.

The score was similarly refreshing (and impressive considering the composer also edited, co-wrote, and directed the movie). Thematically interesting, worth a watch and worth mental bandwidth after a watch.

Very impressed and looking forward to more from Gints Zilbalodis.

    Deadpool & Wolverine

    ★★½

This might be more of an individual criticism, but I'm beginning to find the whole Deadpool thing very tired. I don't think I laughed throughout the whole movie. Not even a chuckle, which (if my memory is correct) is about what the first film was able to illicit from me. The previous two movies were largely unexceptional as well, but this one was at least marginally more entertaining than the second one.

Boring plot, boring stakes, boring villains. It's not terrible: just average. But that just makes me think all the more, why even make another one?

    The Fall Guy

    ★★

Very boring. Actors involved gave fine performances, but the script was obviously bleh. Just another movie that feels like it was made for tax purposes. Won't even remember it tomorrow.
