    Such a nothing movie. There is nothing here other than some surface level commentary and satire. None of it is coherent or compelling, you’re left waiting for something to hook you into the story and it never comes. Eventually you just end up waiting for it to finish.

    A huge part of that is the fact there is no character development, and that none of the characters (Mickey 17 included, although he does have his moments) are even slightly likeable.…

    Wanted to watch incase Fernanda Torres does manage to scoop the Oscar but it’s worth it even beyond that. A really beautiful, grounded film. It succeeds in making you feel each and every emotion of the characters, and that’s a testament to not only the acting, but in my eyes more so the vision and the editing of this film, I really enjoyed it.

    While it hit every emotional beat, I do feel like it was moved on from too…

    A rather round-about way to illustrate the viciousness and exploitative nature of the American dream. I know there were other points it was making, but they all felt secondary to this and I wish they were more prominent. It also always feels tacky to me whenever American filmmakers criticise it. 

    I would still root for Adrien Brody for Best Actor in spite of the AI controversy. In MY opinion, the respeecher isn’t a big deal in the context it was used…
