i love that he’s just a bloke that feels most alive in nature. in the novel it’s curious that all vatanen’s early quest role models live on the edge of bureaucracy, preferring to spend most time in nature as does the police chief, the game warden, yet v must go deeper, his goal is further north, darker, wilder, more self-reliant.
