When Harry Met Sally is a wonderful film that manages to make both characters develop in a way which feels natural and rewarding.
Harry starts off as an obnoxious misogynist making a pass at his girlfriend's close friend out of the blue then making the bold claim that men and women cannot be friends. Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is a thoroughly enjoyable film. Centred around an struggling immigrant family split down generational lines on their ability to assimilate with their host culture, EEAAO manages to simply implement basic philosophy to add depth and impact whilst still providing enough common ground for a wider audience to enjoy.
To some it is a tender and evocative films. To others it's frivolous with its implementation of philosophy, dressed up in an absurd sense of humour, and…
A wonderful film that fulfils the want to see the abhorrent oppressor brought to ruin in a fantastically spectacular display of violence. My only problems with it is it's an incredibly male orientated film, not only in its target audience but in it's casting and characters. Truly a classic and a captivating satire of hypercapitlistic culture and it's icons. The toned down violence in comparison from the books is appreciated but some scene were still quite intense in that regard, particularly Bateman's use of violence in sex with sex workers. It evades any immediate and simple interpretation which I'm very much a fan of. A must-watch in my opinion.
