  Brave performances by all three lead actors, especially Demi Moore, who was the sex symbol of the 90's.
  A great dystopian ' black mirror' like story of technology promising a better life but ultimately at what price? I can see the links to ' The Fly' that appear in some reviews, the gorefest at the end was more like 'Planet Terror' but more graphic if you can believe that?
  Overall a great film with the style akin to Peter Greenaway but more hyper real. Not sure I could bear a second view just yet!

  The Girl with the Needle 2024

  Not the difficult watch I was expecting. Great pace to the storytelling and a mixing bowl that included fine cinematography, wonderful performances and a great soundscape. I heard the director talk about returning to folie artists, but it wasn't noticeable or separated like the films of the seventies and eighties. I noticed nods to the Lumiere brothers and a taste of Bella Tar, with a touch of Little Britain! Excellent experience and will be re-watching soon.

  Wasn't confident that this was going to be up my street, but how wrong was I? Loved it. Memories of good British black comedy with some modern gore and very passable performances,especially from the Smith family.

  Had to catch up with Eggers films after being blown away with Nosferatu. Great take on the folk tales of America in its infancy. Some small irritations with the Yorkshire accents and some of the dialogue, but overall some fantastic story telling, very strong performances especially from the young actors, and a surprisingly effective climax.
