The Martian 2015
I love movies where the science is accurate. This movie came out at a pivotal point in my scientific career and it left a profound impact on me. Even now during my PhD I think back to how the movie inspired me. Especially the scene where he makes water via the combustion of hydrazine.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Not often is a sequel better than the original. The perfect amount of suspense to action. I was hanging from the edge of my seat the first time I watched it. Captivating to say the least and an elegant way to summarize the first book. Timothy and Zendaya put on a clinic. Hans did Hans level things.
