Nothing and no one could hide him from me. - Mrs Mamie at trial testifying.
Loved how God's laws, not human's, is the only true justice was shown throughout the film. Love cannot be legislated.
Also found it good storytelling when we see Emmett tell the store clerk she looked like a movie star & then later watch her act her heart out at the trial.

Strong performances & wonderful costumes. Deeply appreciated details such as the hot comb on hair in the kitchen & sharp instructions to keep the head held a certain way. I could smell the scene.
Another scene towards the end was reminiscent of Reservation Dogs S2E9. Rivers of much needed tears flowed. Acknowledgement of ancestors always gets me right in the gut.
4/5 coz some of the cinematography felt distractingly disjointed; close ups for no apparent purpose for example. But only some.
I only wish more promotion could be had. This is an important period piece that has a right to be told.Translated from by -
