Watched this on the plane back to school and thoroughly enjoyed this more than I was expecting. First off, Pharrell has so many incredible hits that the soundtrack was bound to be magnificent, and they hit all the best ones in some capacity. My thoughts on the movie itself are that it’s an extremely entertaining yet biased portrait of one of the most innovative and creative yet complicated and mysterious people to ever live. I wish he had talked more about his fall off and how he get in the studio with Daft Punk.

The scene where she gives birth in the gas station is one of the most powerful things I’ve ever watched. So raw, so intense, and yet so gentle and heartwarming. One moment I was literally almost in a sweat on the plane, and then the next I felt a singular tear fall down my cheek. Garfield is made for these roles, and the movie also does a really good job at dissecting the topic of legacy and how we want to be remembered. Don’t know how often I’ll rewatch this but it’ll stick with me.
