    Hallucinations

Hallucinations would be the product if Hershell Gordon Lewis and Wes Craven took all the ACID on Earth and decided to make the wildest SOV low-budget gore flick ever.

There’s such a sense of creativity and provocation in this movie. Not many things in SOV horror geniuely gross me out…but the guy defectating out a butcher knife defintely came close…

    The creature design is crazy.
    The gore is crazy.
The willingness to push the limits of conventional horror techniques is DEFINTELY…

    I Start Counting

Not one character yells “I Start Counting” which would’ve been cool….but that’s ok….

Cool little coming-of-age thriller with some beautiful voyeuristic camerawork that creates a constant atmosphere of unease. Plus, Jenny Agutter gives an INSANELY good lead performance for just being 17 years old at the time.

Glad that this wonderful piece of very sophisticated euro trash recieved a proper restoration so that more people can enjoy it. 😄

    The House That Dripped Blood

Suitably spooky anthology. Personal fave was Peter Cushing’s mannequin-horror installment although……the first story was undoubtedly the scariest….some MAJOR goosebump-inducing sequences in that one, yeesh. 😰

    Bava does SCI-FI?????
    Sign me up.

Gorgeous, otherworldly, pulpy 1960s science fiction with a dose of the Italian director’s signature gothic horror elements and insanely vibrant, expressive lighting.

Bava, you continue to amaze me. 😄
