I kind of predicted the major plot beats and twists, but it felt earnest enough that I still had a lot of fun watching them happen. The ending credits animations were incredible as well, I like it!

I watched this at like 2am so this is a very subjective review. I didn't like that a race of handsome squidwards made humans. The design alone looked so stupid to me that I got a little mad.
Also the characters were really dumb, I kind of wished the entire planet exploded. Everyone was pretty rude to David also, which made me sympathize and felt like that was also dumb. I would try to make friends with an android...

Noroi: The Curse 2005
So good! But I never want to watch this again. Horror done well is, to me, a perfect tragedy. It's beyond depressing to realize what horrible fates our characters got after all their small kindnesses and bravery.
Noroi has exactly 1 jumpscare in the beginning and the rest is all up to atmosphere, the building tension, and the cast of characters we see in all their everyday-mundane kind of glory.

the setup was soooo good i want to rate it higher but the story kept devolving the longer it went on, to the point where i just laughed when the statues/wall carvings came alive. it's good to know that even in the upside-down hell 1000feet underground, us humans can still just palm-shove pasty little demon domes out of our way when we're in a hurry
