Ngl ya’ll can hate this, but it’s basically what I want from more Power Rangers media. Bad suit and zord designs aside, I really do love Power Rangers with a bit of a more serious tone and the team bonding aspect of the movie really shined bright. It’s not a master piece, but it doesn’t have to be. This should have gotten that sequel, specially after teasing Tommy at the end
P.s. I loved the small cameos after the final battle. I didn’t catch it when I first watched this movie a long time ago.
James McAvoy is such a goated actor. It’s crazy how well he played a psychotic but charismatic villain in this. The story is a bit predictable, but the execution is fairly well done. Overall I really enjoyed this. My only gripe was that damn bunny💀 but I guess they wouldn’t have gotten Ant out if they hadn’t gone back for it.
This movie revived my loved for this entire franchise. Orion and D-16 have amazing arcs across this movie, from best friends to mortal enemies. Add to it the fact that in its own way this movie tackles topics like autonomy, dictatorship and war. Finally, the third act genuinely locks in harder than almost any movie out there. You can really see Orion and D become Optimus and Megatron across this movie down to their voice acting.
