  Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio 2022

  Del Toro's signature cynicism set in fascist Italy. It sounds like you're up to watch something dark and crude but it's not entirely the case with his Pinocchio. Directed as a dark comedy with stunning animation I'm sure not everyone is expecting some of the turns the film has to offer. An interesting vision on the Classic, remaining a simple story with emphasis on the setting and the small cast of characters. Art direction anyway is what really shines and…

  A little of a B movie kind of script, but overall does a very good job on adapting the videogame in its atmospheres thanks to the great musics inspired by Akira Yamaoka's original take and good pacing and direction. If only writing were a little less lazy on some points it would have been way more engaging.
