saw this in theaters for the first time today and cried so hard. listened to all of preachers daughter on the way back and cried some more.
laura palmer really is one of the most complex and fleshed out female characters in all of cinema. this film humanizes her and brings her to life for once as a full fledged character with all her complexities. it’s so easy to see yourself in her, making her impending fate all the more heartbreaking.
