Contrary to the title, the film is quite a deeply human and poignantly captivating one that explores the freeing nature of accepting yourself and being honest about who you are as an individual despite the prejudices and pressures of a society whose members force upon others their flimsy concept of normalcy. The way "Monster", as a title, is used as an allegorical pejorative in the story for otherness and non-conformity is beautifully done and makes you question who the true monster is.
