  Being actively on fire and smashing open a fire extinguisher hanging on a wall to put yourself out mid fight is the most badass thing I've seen in a film so far this year. Unfortunately after that the next best thing was the title sequence art.

  Miko visibly falling in love with Kristofer as he sings at the restaurant is among my favorite scenes of the year. Fantastic performance by the actress Kōki in that scene. I was absolutely smitten watching them fall in love.

  I've gotten into the habit of reading as little about a movie before I go see it as possible, that reached a culmination with me not realizing this was a PG children's movie, and I'm not sure the last time I've watched a live action children's movie, but kids deserve better than this. I understand a lot of the silliness isn't for me and I think kids actually like that so that's fine but some line readings had me thinking, you really just moved on from that and didn't do another take?
