Felt like a fever dream and I have a headache but in a good way? Love it or hate it you won’t believe that this film was made much less released. An insane asylum of a film.

Was expecting something more bombastic (no pun intended) but I actually got an intense and mature surreal character study that made me feel like I had blood on my hands when credits rolled. I’ve always enjoyed Nolan and his works but I never could have guessed that he had a film like this in him. That whole ending sequence was a gut punch, let alone the rest of the film. Tremendous use of cinematography, sound and editing to tell the story and how it communicates all of its emotions. It’s an all out attack on the senses.

This is not the inspiring portrayal of a cool confident, empowering sex symbol that people were probably hoping for. Rather it's an iconoclastic surreal horror film of Hollywood, the cost of fame, and childhood trauma, and honestly Dominik does a damn good job at it for better or worse.
