Black Bag 2025
I very much enjoyed this. I’m not too familiar with Soderberghs work, but I think I’ll check out some of his stuff after having seen this. I really enjoyed the tension building, performances, soundtrack, and the lighting and framing in certain scenes were just great. I was hooked within the first few minutes and it kept me in the whole time, and it’s only 90 minutes which is honestly perfect for a movie like this. 4/5

I think this is my favorite of the year so far. It’s genuinely great. I never once thought that it was going to be anything but great. Everything about this movie works so well and I can’t stop thinking about it. The story, messages, acting, visuals, everything. Robert Pattinson and Mark Ruffalo are the definite stand outs with both of them giving amazing performances. It’s also surprisingly kind of emotional and complex. This probably goes up as one of my favorite movies by Bong Joon Ho. 4.5/5

The Monkey 2025
What the fuck. It’s so silly and I love it so much. The premise in and of itself is already a very silly concept, and it knows that. I love the way it sticks to that mindset too. The kills are very creative and I like how it doesn’t hold back on the violence and absurdity of it. The cinematography, soundtrack, script, acting, everything in it just works really well. Also fuck the couple in front of me and the dad with his kid behind me, they were so damn annoying. It didn’t ruin how good the movie was though. 4/5
