  A perfect film for our time.

  This is easily one of the best and most unique films I’ve seen in a while. A deeply profound and uncomfortably funny musing on exploitation, capitalism, and colonialism.

  wake up babe new intergenerational trauma movie just dropped

  The atmosphere, the cinematography, the creature design, the religious undertones?? Delish. 

  Easily some of the strongest child actor performances I’ve seen in a while. Halle Berry was phenomenally believable, there were moments where I genuinely started questioning my own sanity. 

  Given how much the movie seems to be about mental illness, it’s almost shocking that Aja takes such a safe approach with the ending rather than fully diving into completely batshit territory.

  Overall a thoroughly enjoyable horror about mental illness and intergenerational trauma. While it borders on familiar territory, I loved Aja’s take on the apocalyptic.
