  One of my all timers. Rewatched it with Paul last night and I was struck by how beautiful it is. Vivid blue skies. A couple gorgeous evening scenes. Sun drenched rooms with the curtain drawn. This movie is so BC in the summer (I know it’s Oregon but close enough).

  Low key really engaging! Is this a movie about belief and faith and hope or is it a movie that is baldfacedly pro commercialism ?  greed and self interested ambition ultimately save Santa— Who may or may not just be crazy and may or may not be a secularized Christ figure…. Usually Christmas movies have easy morality, but miracle on 34th street is a puzzle. 
  Also, the acting is fantastically cheesy in places and the child actors are to die for.
