i still don’t understand why poncho keeps being edited out of archival footage. despite him not participating in the reunion, he’s still one of the six original members who helped with the success of the band. it makes no sense to me, but this was still fun and i loved it! (even if it had 1989 world tour editing and some of my favorite performances were cut).

it’s hard to feel for these characters when almost any moment of sincerity parrales with a flashback or a silly comment that takes you out of the moment. unfortunately, it’s trying too hard to make the audience feel something, but fails to stick the landing when it matters the most. I kept thinking, “maybe when she passes, i’ll feel something,” but the moment is ruined by the execution and the underwhelming callback to earlier in the film.
Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh acted their butts off, and I will give them their flowers for that! i just wish i liked the film more than i did.
