The Curse 2023
Of all the recent films and tv shows that have explored class/capitalism/wokeness from the underling's perspective (i.e. the 99 percent) this feels like the best so far. Quirkier than White Lotus, less on the nose than Triangle of Sadness, a perfect mix of Safdie aesthetics and charm and Fielder absurdism.
Most importantly, I feel like I know these three people in other people in varying degrees (except for maybe Dougie, who I definitely met at a bar in Melbourne on Chapel St circa 2016, over and over).
