A tragic story about family, community and institutionalized violence.
In previous viewings, this movie has been somewhat peripheral. Firstly, the soundtrack for the film is phenomenal from the jazz interlaced between the climactic scenes to hearing 80s funk as the characters walk the streets of south central to late 80s Southern California rap staples. Unironically my first time watching this movie all the way through. Surprisingly more in the rom-com space than I expected but with the raunchy humor you’d expect from a mid 2000s blockbuster. Amy Adams is hot. Jim still made the right decision
