All Quiet on the Western Front 2022
ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT is one of the most realistic and painful war movies I‘ve ever seen. Fuck that was depressing. The hopelessness, even in moments when they "happily" eat together, still everyone knows he will not come home. Overwhelming cinematography, make up, production and cast (especially Felix Kammerer). Also the music, it got me hooked.

WHEEL OF FORTUNE AND FANTASY is a lovely trio of narratives connected by the idea of fate and chance.
I like how Hamaguchi draws out the intimacy of the characters while giving the audience so much air to breathe. At some stages I felt uncomfortable, like I was the character and couldn't take the situation anymore, especially in the second episode - but at the same time I didn't want it to end.
