Poor Things 2023
Felt very disturbed by the first hour of the movie, but then, as soon as Bella was introduced to culture and books on the boat, I began to understand and reframe some of the precedent scenes. Still perplexed by some choices of the director and writer (particularly about the representation of prostitution as a form of women's control over their bodies) but overall a film which surely prompts a reflection on the standards of our society and the search of a genuine women's indipendence. Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo are marvelous.
