The Big Sick 2017
It's cute that Emily and Kumail wrote this together about their own relationship but honestly it didn't particularly grab me. Maybe knowing the irl story before going in, but yeah. Wish I could say I liked this more. Good performances from Romano & Hunter and quite funny but bland as unseasoned chips visually.

I liked, but didn't love this. thought it would be an absolute slam dunk and it was funnier than I expected but something just didn't quite take it all the way for me. the performances were great from everyone (Rob, Toni and Ruffalo especially) but visually I can't say I was blown away and the lack of a satisfying end for the fascist scientists left me wanting.
EDIT. I fancast Walton Goggins as the Mark Ruffalo character in my head…
