Festival Express 2003
An amazing archive of a long ago experiment in presenting a rock and roll festival: a 1970 tour by train across Canada, featuring American roots oriented artists like The Band, The Grateful Dead, Janice Joplin and others. In the wake of the Altamont disaster, and except for the kids who rioted because they thought musical performances should be free, the tour showed an uplifting side of the era. The Maysles weren't the only ones paying attention to such cultural landmarks.
