  Severed Ties 1992

  It's so dumb, but dumb in the right way. The movie is cheesy mad-scientist nonsense and everyone involved clearly knows it, but they still acted as if they thought they were in something serious. It doesn't rank as highly as Reanimator, but it has the same tone.

  three stars for the movie and an additional half star for Chocolate Chip Charlie.

  Phantom of the Paradise 1974

  I genuinely wanted to enjoy this movie simply for the character design, but it was a mess. It struck me as being the outcome of someone leaving a midnight showing of Rocky Horror and proceeding to get high while watching Phantom of the Opera with friends. The concept was fun, but the music was bad and it seemed to drag on forever.
