Has to be about the biggest load of rubbish ever filmed. Struck me as being the product of someone deciding to put their craziest unconnected nightmares together and make a film out of it. Zany I can take. This was just nonsense!
"A Star is Born" storyline on a much tighter budget but, for me, a more enjoyable film. Jessie Buckley is magnificent in her acting and singing, as a foul-mouthed, irresponsible, selfish, young, Glaswegian unmarried mother-of-two just out of prison for heroin possession, who cares about nothing more than deserting Glasgow for Nashville to realise her dream of becoming a country music star. The plot is a little formilaic but has a surprising and very touching ending. A star really is born in Jessie Buckley!
I found this film utterly enthralling and riveting from start to finish, and I'm one of the many people who don't even like wrestling! Sometimes these sporting achievement-themed films can be a bit predictable and cheesy, but the fact that this was based on a true story really gave it life and credibility.
