The top 4 favorites are simply the films that I really liked recently.
After that horrible cooking scene, I need to watch some episodes of The Bear to regain my appetite.
I was never a big fan of beavers, but this movie changed my mind. It’s a nod to old movies like Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin, with a little Looney Tunes thrown in. 108 minutes of non-stop gags that gave me a very good time and completely won me over.
Fascinating what you can create with a small budget and an Adobe After Effects license.
If only they had left him West Side Story and his switchblade.
The editing in this documentary is seriously impressive. Sharp, dynamic, and creative in the way it weaves together the archival footage and jazz music.
But wow, it was a lot to take in. The sheer amount of information thrown at you makes it hard to follow at times, and by the end, I felt more overwhelmed than enlightened.
This is definitely a film for those already deep into the topics of colonialism, Cold War politics, and jazz. If you're not, it might be tough to keep up. Just be prepared for this 2½-hour journey—it's a lot.
