  decent music and great animation, the classic fantasy story here albeit a bit stale is refreshing to see in one of these. don’t know how fully convinced i am on everything going on and think it might be a little too stuffed to the seams but fun time

  want to love this one more than i really do, the animation is absolutely gorgeous as expected and the environment is just so whimsical and luscious. however, this has one of the weakest stories out of all the ghibli films I've seen. with everything being so ambitious and having so much time to shine i feel as if miyazaki never really put too much time fleshing out a cohesive plot of this film; storylines are either barely beyond the surface level or fail to have any depth and feel shoehorned in
