    Hidden Figures

    ★★★★

I love being exposed to new parts of history, especially by a film that felt full of heart.

It made me want to Google these ladies and part of me wished the film was longer so I could gain further insight into their lives.

The acting was stellar all around with moving performances that brought you closer to these character.

    Longlegs

    ★★★

The beginning was very atmospheric and foreboding. However, I still struggle to understand that high praise I saw it receive from audiences for how terrifying it is.

The end reveal was somewhat underwhelming in my opinion. I also have no idea what people mean when they refer to "that" scene. I wouldn't which scene was supposed to be so memorably horrifying. Yes, there is a very gory seen but that's just disgusting, not scary.

It's a decent horror movie but promises more than it delivers.

I welcome any attempts in the genre of noir. While Motherless Brooklyn is perhaps not gloomy or foreboding enough, it still has the cornerstones of the genre down.

Lionel's disability adds a little extra, perhaps a little more heart with regards to how people react to him. The mystery is interwoven with enough twists and turns to keep the viewer engaged until the very end. Certainly not for those with short attention spans.

The cast does a great job all around. It's household names wherever you look so their failure would've been surprise. Edward Norton does an outstanding job as the lead.
