The Tale 2018
This was one of the hardest-to-watch films I’ve ever seen, but it truly is a must see. The story horrifying, brutal, and so important. No more than ever it is important to remember the difference between consent and coercion, and that our role as people should be to rally around victims as they come to terms with atrocities inflicted against them in their own time and way- not to write off damage based on things having taken place “in a different time”.

The Ritual 2017
Think if the Blair Witch Project were directed by Village-era Shyamalan- not bad, but not as good as it thinks it is. Still watchable in general, and level 99 by Netflix standards.

Queen of Earth 2015
Ugly, unnecessarily loud, and filled with poorly developed characters. It takes real talent to make a female-led film about female relationships and have the only male character be the most human and relatable; and I mean that in the most offensive way possible.

mother! 2017
I saw this film a week ago and it has taken me that long to fully process my thoughts and feelings. Ultimately, without spoiling anything, the most concise review I can give is that it is an incredible, shocking, daring film about too many things to count. It packs emotional punches unprecedented in our recent move toward safe cinema. By far the best film I've seen in a very long time, and wonderfully feminist.
