Yeah it’s still just one of the greatest ever made. A Nietzschean tale of humanity overcoming itself. A stunningly optimistic film that paradoxically manages to remain unsettling 60 years later. An utterly modernist vision of a human-oriented future. *Sigh* I guess I’ll let Jeff Bezos sell me the premium Lunar Travel Package, with monolith access included thanks to my Amazon Prime subscription (no touching the big black artifact!)
