Interstellar 2014
Interstellar was a moving film, don't get me wrong. Visually it was stunning, it was very suspenseful, and the cast was strong (Matthew McConaughey moved me to tears). However, the "love is the fifth dimension" shit threw me right out of the wonder I felt up to that point. Also, Anne Hathaway's character was pathetic.

Blazing Saddles 1974
One of the best satires in existence, if not the best. Mel Brooks is unparalleled in his ability to hammer social issues while drawing a huge laugh, a skill that many struggle to attain. This film is zany and outlandish but it all just works somehow and I attribute that all to the beautiful genius that is Mel.
