  This film has been absolutely stuck on my brain since I saw it days ago. Incredibly real, well researched, lifelike and disturbing. Manages to investigate subject matter of literal torture porn without doing any of the screen trope torture porn. Is both the best courtroom drama and enigmatic character study I’ve seen in ages. Must stress how perfectly restrained the film is. No indulgent writing and exposition, no cheap twists, no extradiegetic soundtrack to tell you what to feel. Just…

  She should never be allowed to write another movie ever again this was absolutely awful. I cannot believe it’s even possible for such a beautiful film with such good actors to feel so frustratingly pointless and cringingly bad.   Best physical comedy movie I’ve seen
  I love this movie. It has no characters. The people are there but it’s about what they do not who they are. They are almost props, and it plays brilliantly with the theatric sensibility of Tati’s direction. With a camera prone to wide, lingering shots in restrained color palettes which pull back wide and adopt angles to emphasize structure and place, people become mere moving parts to the grander designs creates with the sets.…
