grim, but obviously still relevant. doesn't feel like much has changed. i did enjoy seeing the shots of seattle in the 80s.

the ominous tone makes the whole thing read like a supervillain's origin story. sebastian stan really falls into the role and makes you forget you're even watching an actor at times. i wonder if they'll do a sequel someday

they don't look like them. they don't sound like them. but man, do they act like them.
who would've thought that the best beatles movie would be a made-for-tv fanficfion film from 2000. but this underrated classic directed by a real insider is the one beatles biopic that actually, truly gets to the bottom of the love-hate lennon-mccartney relationship. i've never seen anything that truly shows their attitudes towards the music and the stardom of it all. it's magical in a way that a true story could never be. i'll always love this film.
