The more I think about this movie, the worse it becomes.
There is a scene at a fundraiser hosted by Emilia Pérez — the titular trans drug lord turned anti-cartel violence activist — where her lawyer, played by Zoe Saldaña, voices her concern about taking “dirty money” for the cause.

Entertaining and technically competent, it looks and feels like a proper Alien movie, but it’s completely hollow. If it has anything to say at all, it’s nothing you haven’t heard before.

I just cannot forgive the digitally reconstructed Ian Holm. As fan service it was pointless and ghoulish, souring every scene he was in.
