Watched this movie on a plane and it pissed me off and made me tired.
Grow up, have a conversation, roll credits. It’s not cute or funny to be clueless as to how to communicate your feelings—these people are supposed to what, in their 30’s? Why does this continue to be a thing in contemporary romcoms? I could maybe excuse it in the presence of even a single well-written joke, but none were to be found. Anyone but you? Anything but this.

I love everything about this movie. The style, the characters, the soundtrack, the dry Swedish humor. Malmros definitely wears his influences on his sleeve, but that makes it even more fun to see where and how they come up. I also love that every time I watch I catch a new and hilarious detail. My brother and I are always quoting the vino shito bit (med apelsin smak), and this is one of maybe five (or less) movies that made my extremely stoic Swedish father laugh so hard he had tears streaming down his face. Now that is a rare gift.
