Eyes Wide Shut 1999
it took several viewings for me to get what Kubrick was trying to say, and then a few more to decide if i even liked what he was saying.
i'm here now to report back that yes, Eyes Wide Shut does a solid job of telling its story in an unexpectedly-meta way: spicy pic of a hot doctor's nightly sexcapades in NYC or stupid married man's erotic fantasies crushed by the reality of life?

Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God 2005
i guess my biggest mistake was criticizing the campiness of the first movie because this one was so serious, it was seriously boring.
characters were pretty standard archetypes of their classes, but unfortunately also dull as hell.
had the audacity to bring back a villain, only to take away his personality and give him weaker powers.
and the CGI got so much worse? although the story did improve...somewhat.
i wish money was left in the budget for some decent colorization though; i think that's what bored my eyes the most, the beigescale color palette.
