Godzilla × Kong: The New Empire 2024
Very fun, silly movie. I love Godzilla stuff and have really enjoyed the Monsterverse. That said, the writing in this is bad. The actual storytelling is bad. Godzilla spends the first hour powering up for a new threat, but in the final fight it’s not clear that it’s even consequential. This is my favorite Christmas movie, and one of my favorites overall. It just works, and I think it's because the point of the movie is the main characters and the dialogue, and less about the case they're working.
