    I dig this film. I think it dragged a few things out, but I'm a sucker for Denzel, creepy twin emperors, and an Irish actor playing the son of an Australian actor (both of them playing as Romans). Good times.

    All jokes and arbitrary lists aside, this film did a good job re-hashing a lot of elements from part one and did, at the very least, tell an interesting story. I loved how "sides" turned and twisted especially in the third act.

    First off, this movie was dark and horrific for a super hero movie. You can say whatever you want about DC trying to catch up with Marvel, but the superhero "blueprint" and the plot/storyline "formula" are night and day different. The superhero-to-society relationship is awesome. It's unique, dynamic, and driven by a darkness yet to be seen in superhero films. The narrative of a hero and his town has totally shifted.     Every time I watch this movie I get something else out of, whether it’s a tiny Easter Egg related to the plot, or a greater revelation about a character and their motives. This time around there were three things that stuck out to me: Lex Luthor’s level of intellect and his desire for control, Batman’s remarkable level of planning, and the fact that this is just NOT a super hero movie.
