Such a confusing finale to the trilogy for me. Despite it having the look of a blockbuster movie, it doesn’t feel like one. It’s tone is so dire and bleak
I don’t think audiences, safely enjoying their popcorn, want to look at apes getting locked up in a camp doing forced labour, getting beaten with a whip, killed in mass executions, tied to wooden crosses freezing to death and getting point blank shot in the head.
It is, well, quite a lot for a movie about talking apes.
Not as horrifying as Mark Wahlberg having intercourse with a female ape tho
