Light of Day 1987
Getting an extra half star because I got to see Michael McKean appear in Lincolnwood.
Gena Rowlands was just fantastic in a movie with a lot of strong performances. Love her in general but... wow!
Had some serious 'Blue Collar' vibes, for obvious reasons.

All Is Bright 2013
Last year I saw 'The Holdovers' and declared it among my favorite alt holiday movies. This year, it was 'All is Bright' and I liked it for the same reasons.
I want to see a spinoff movie with Sally Hawkins' Olga.

Moonlight and Pretzels 1933
Saw this on a cold and rainy night, presented by CFS at NEIU.
I had a GREAT time with this one. I'll be thinking about Mr. Pappacropolis and his excellent mustache for some time. The song and dance numbers weren't life-changing but I still found myself humming along. I also loved the beer garden hijinks.
I can see why this was a hit in 1933. Give everything [gestures broadly] going on today, it was nice to see a pretty straightforward musical and love story that I didn't have to think super hard about. I left with a smile on my face!
