It's serviceable for the pioneer for the Terrifer franchise, but as a movie, it's very.....ehhh. There's little to no actual substance, most of the movie consists of a watching movies within a movie through the eyes of the babysitter.
The pacing is awkward, plot's predictable and the dialogue and character writing stinks of a a old timey cheesy horror flick. I'm grateful the franchise stepped it up in terms of gore as there was but one actually good scene whereas…

Compared to the two later films, Terrifer 1 was definitely a lot shorter, a lot less gruesome, a lot less polished, and just a bit random all things considered, it's not bad, but it manages errr...one good scene really....two if counting how creepy Art crossdressing was.
