Ooohhhhhis this movie is an EXPERIENCE, and a must see. On paper it’s an anthology of Kurosawa’s dreams. On a deeper level tho, this is a movie made by a man in his twilight years; reflecting on himself, his life, his people, his species, and his world. It is as bitter and pessimistic as you’d expect from someone who lived through both world wars and the latter 20th century. Yet under it all, beneath a shell hardened by many years…
