  i might have had too many expectations but it felt simultaneously too challenging to be a children's movie and too anthropomorphized to be truly subversive. that said every single meow from that sweet sweet cat went straight to my heart so good job nonetheless

  i can't bloody believe this movie wants you to excuse the racist, completely self-interested asshole's behaviour and ends with a washed-out neïla completely assimilated (they even dare to straighten her hair) into a very wrong system that punishes the non-white non-elite, an adherent-to-the-norm attorney that believes belittling is the right way to go. truly can't believe they wrapped that up under the idiotic excuse of "political correctness is bad" and just washed their hands. "yeah he's racist but he's taught you rethoric and how to fit in instead of defending your integrity so he's kinda alright, definitively deserves to stay in academia." fuck you.
