I really want to rate this higher because I love what it’s doing, but can’t do so honestly because the execution wasn’t for me. Deserves higher than a 3.5 overall but that is unfortunately what I have to rate it personally.

Towards the end of this film I realised that Les Grossman looks like my friend Tom but bald and then I realised that he didn't look like my friend Tom at all but he instead looked like Tom Cruise and then I thought "Holy shit it's Tom Cruise!"

Those of us who are fortunate to have never experienced it, are entirely desensitised to the destruction of war. From a young age we hear these incomprehensible numbers, the millions who died in various conflicts, and learn them only as facts. It is impossible to properly empathise with the suffering of those millions, we can't help but see them just as figures. We know factually how horrific wars like WW2 were, but we can't properly feel how horrific they were.
But this movie does a very good job at trying to get you there.
